We are excited to share that the EulerDAO (On-Chain Governance) is going live very soon!
If you’re wondering how on-chain governance will work, we will be using the latest @OpenZeppelin Governor and TimelockController smart contracts (v4.6.0) and will be collaborating with @tallyxyz (Governance Dashboard) for managing the on-chain governance process, including voting power delegation, proposal creation, voting, proposal queuing and proposal execution.
We are proposing the following governance process:
Let us know what you think about the duration of the process via the following Polls at the end of the thread and please share any feedback in a reply to this tweet and retweet to help us spread the word!
Like everything in life, these parameters are all about trade-offs:
- if governance needs to act quickly, shorter timeframes are preferable
- if governance wants more chance to debate and intervene, longer is better
If you’re wondering what the developers behind Euler think… they feel that a culture should be established where vigorous debate should take place before the proposal stage, using the forums and snapshot to temperature check ideas.
This approach maintains the ability of governance to act swiftly when needed, whilst allowing strong community engagement before any proposal passes.
But this is all meta governance - let us know what you think!
